Kailash Mansarovar

A Pilgrimage to Mount Kailash & Mansarovar Lake

Mount Kailash, revered across Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Bon, is considered the spiritual axis of the universe. Towering at 6,638 meters in the remote reaches of western Tibet, it holds profound significance for millions of devotees across cultures and faiths. At its base lies Lake Mansarovar, a luminous, high-altitude lake believed to purify the soul and cleanse lifetimes of karmic burden. For millennia, pilgrims have journeyed across rugged lands to reach these waters and to complete the Kora—a 52-kilometer circumambulation of the mountain believed to dissolve the sins of a lifetime. This journey is designed not just to bring you through the stark beauty of the Himalayan plateau, but into deep inner stillness and perspective. A rare opportunity to step out of the noise of daily life and walk a path that countless seekers have walked before you—in humility, silence, and grace.

Is This Trek Right For You?

Who This Trek Is Ideal For

At Juniper Outdoor, this journey is thoughtfully crafted for fit beginners and intermediate adventurers who are ready to step beyond the ordinary — seeking a meaningful, immersive outdoor experience that challenges and inspires, without requiring commitment to extreme expedition-level terrain.

Who Can Do This Trek

The Wild Rodung La Trek is suitable for fit beginners and intermediate trekkers who are comfortable with multi-day hikes in the Eastern Himalayas. It is ideal for individuals with a basic level of trekking experience or strong overall fitness who want to step beyond easy trails without taking on highly technical or expedition-grade terrain. Participants should be capable of walking 5–7 hours a day on mountain trails, handling gradual ascents, uneven paths, and changing weather conditions. No prior high-altitude expedition experience is required, but good stamina, mental resilience, and a willingness to adapt to remote mountain environments are essential for completing the trek comfortably.

Challenges to Expect

High altitude sickness risk, long walking days, cold temperatures, strong winds, and steep climbs especially while crossing Dolma La Pass.

Fitness Expectations

Strong cardiovascular endurance, leg strength, and stamina required. Preparation with regular cardio, stair climbing, and long-distance walking for at least 6–8 weeks before the trip is recommended.
